Parent Governor Vacancies (Four Posts)

21 September 2017

We are looking for parent governors to join our Governing Body

There are currently four parent governor vacancies at The Swinton High School. We would like to encourage parents (or people with parental responsibility) of students at this school to stand as candidates for these vacancies.

What do school governors do?

School governors are a team of people who work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to make key decisions essential to the effective running of the school.

The core strategic functions of our governing body are:-
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils; and
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

What to do next

If you would like to find out more about becoming a parent governor at The Swinton High School please feel free to contact Mrs Gemma Davies, Headteacher's PA & Clerk to the governing body on 0161 921 1457 or gdavies@tshs.co.uk to arrange an informal chat with the chair of governors and headteacher.
