Open Evening 2017

06 October 2017

On Tuesday 3rd October we hosted our annual Open Evening welcoming crowds of prospective students, parents, carers, primary students, friends and colleagues to see our school in action. We seem to say this every year, but we were definitely busier than ever with corridors and classrooms bursting with visitors!

Open Evening 1

Each of our faculties throughout school had a wealth of activities and displays for our visitors to experience, showcasing the extensive facilities we have on offer at The Swinton High School. To welcome everyone there were also two separate welcome speeches from Headteacher Mr Harrison to packed audiences who also enjoyed a vocal performance from Emily Bearley and speeches from Head Boy Corben Timperley, Head Girl Lucy Budsworth, Year 7 students Emmanuela Dwamena and Jude Paterson and ex-student Connor Goodwin.

There was a great buzz around school with everyone enjoying the activities on display and we received some fantastic feedback from some of our visitors;

"My daughter definitely wants to come to The Swinton High School now more than ever. Our Student Guide (Amanda from Year 11) was lovely and helpul. It was a pleasure to catch up with some of my eldest daughter's previous teachers and I will never be able to thank them enough for the work they did with her."

"This is a brilliant school with excellent rapport between teachers and pupils."

"Friendly, welcoming environment. Confident pupils really eager to show off their school."

"The school is fantastic and wonderful."

"My older daughters have had a really positive start from The Swinton High School and I am more than happy for my son to choose this school to attend."
