Another ex-student’s soaring success!

02 February 2018

It feels like the success stories of our past students are flooding in thick and fast lately! This week were overjoyed to receive an email from the parent of Thomas Baxendale, who left The Swinton High School in 2011.

After leaving us Thomas continued his education at Eccles College with fantastic success, achieving grade A's in his A-Levels and securing him a place at Warwick University studying BSc Computer Science. Thomas thoroughly enjoyed university life, taking part in new activities and sports including rock climbing and Taekwondo and making new friends…even some international ones.!

During his second year Thomas decided he wanted to complete his Masters Degree and this year will achieve a Masters in Engineering. He has been offered a fabulous job as a C# Software Developer in the Midlands which he has accepted and his ultimate ambitions are to work in London or internationally.

In contacting us, Thomas's Mum told us; "As you probably can appreciate we are extremely proud of his achievements, his hard work and his determination. I would like to thank all the staff who helped, guided and supported Thomas whilst at The Swinton High School. Your efforts have had an immense impact on Thomas."

We are equally proud of Thomas's achievements and wish him every success in whichever path his career now takes him in. We'd love to welcome him back to school one day to share his experiences with our students. Well done Thomas!
